Debt Planner Tool Example

Can you feel it? The first step towards freedom! The first step towards financial freedom, that is.

Might not seem like much, but coming up with your plan to pay down the debt is maybe the most monumental step in the whole debt-free/financial freedom journey.

Everyone has a different definition of “financial freedom” but for many it’s just not owing any more debt payments. The ability to take your cash flow back for yourself and not be beholden to a creditor is a wonderful thing.

We created a powerful tool for you for free to map out the journey. After you enter your email in the above, you’ll receive an email from us with the tool available to download.

It’s fairly straightforward to use as most of the math stuff is already auto-calculated. You’ll have to enter the details of the debts on the second tab (amount of debt and interest rate) and from there you can see the timeline until the debt is paid off, so make sure you have a recent statement for your loan(s) handy.

That’s not the only thing you need to fill out though. The debt paydown is only the end result, but it doesn’t show you how to get there.

That’s what the first tab is for in the planner tool.

You’ll have to fill out your expected monthly income and expenses (yes, a budget. I know, it’s terrible to make you do this). Again, pretty straightforward and it’s important to have at least a rough idea of what you make and spend in a month.

Budget Example

The remaining amount after the budget is completed automatically flows into the second tab, which calculates how much you’ll be able to pay in a month towards the debt, which in turn shows how quickly you can pay the debt down (neat, huh?).

And here’s the part most people don’t realize until they actually see it on paper: the plan itself creates momentum.

Debt feels overwhelming when it’s vague. When it’s just a number floating in the back of your mind. Once you lay it out: income, expenses, balances, interest rates, something changes. The fog lifts.

You’re no longer guessing or hoping. You’re looking at facts, and facts are empowering.

This planner isn’t about perfection. You don’t need to have every expense nailed down to the penny. What matters is clarity. Even a “good enough” budget gives you something incredibly valuable: control. Control over where your money is going, and more importantly, control over where it can go instead.

You may be surprised by what you find. Sometimes the numbers confirm what you already suspected. Other times, they reveal opportunities, extra cash flow you didn’t realize you had, or small adjustments that make a bigger difference than expected. Those insights are often the turning point.

And once you see the timeline, an actual end date for your debt, that’s when things really click. It stops being an endless grind and starts becoming a countdown. Each payment has a purpose. Each month moves you closer to being done.

This tool is designed to meet you where you are. Whether you’re aggressively tackling debt or just trying to get your footing, the goal is the same: progress. Not guilt. Not restriction. Progress.

Take your time with it. Revisit it as things change. Income goes up. Expenses shift. Life happens. The planner adjusts with you.

You’re not committing to a lifetime of spreadsheets. You’re taking one intentional step toward breathing room, flexibility, and peace of mind.

And that’s how financial freedom actually starts, not with a dramatic overhaul, but with a clear plan and the confidence that comes from knowing exactly what you’re working toward.
